Video will only play once going back to slide

Hi all,

I've searched the group for something relevant but to no avail...

I've got a powerpoint presentation with a video embedded. This will
only play, however, if I go to the slide after it, and return.

Any ideas what I can do to make this play in the first place?

In the custom animation pane do you have a "with previous" or "after
previous" entry for the video
Are there any other entries above this?

Cheers for the quick response.

The video is the only thing on the slide. I've looked at the animation
sequences, and have tried selecting all three options... onclick, with
previous and after previous, all with the same result.

It also works if I go to the previous slide and back again...

If your going to come back to the video I suggest you put a blank slide with
0 (zero) timings or transitions, and come back to that slide. By default
when Microsoft brings you back to a slide it does so after all the events on
that slide have been completed

don't really want to come back to the slide, to be honest, but at
present, it's the only way that it'll play, by moving away from the
slide and back to it.

Michael is describing the exact opposite of your problem which is easy to

I get it your saying that the video only plays once and that you have to
come back to the slide to have it play over, where you would like it to
continue playing until you do something Is this what you want?

I would make certain I have the latest video drivers for he card and that
DirectX is up to date.
