View Notification service..

There is this process running on the Project Server and hogging 70% of CPU.
We have turned it off for now, to reduce the load on the server.
Any idea why this is used ? And can this be scheduled to run once a day etc
?

RT:

This is the service that publishes the project data to various views.
Turning it off essentially disables Project Server. If it's consuming
continuous resources, this would indicate errors on the server. What do you
see in the application event log?
