Viewing insertions, but not deletions, while editing

In Word97, I could edit/print a document and view
insertions BUT NOT deletions. It doesn't appear that I can
do that in Word2002. Appears that insertions and deletions
are tied together.
Anyone else had this annoying experience?

copy the file
accept changes that you dont want to see
view remaining
