Is it possible to save projects or just Gantt charts etc into formats that
people can view that dont have MS project. Many poeple dont have the
software, and actually dont need it, but the info that one can provide from
it, can be of use to others.
I do a lot of planning, but the only way i can show others is by printed
copies.
I have MS Project 2000.
Would be great if they could be saved as PDF's.
could someone explain the process if it is possible?
thanks

Hi Gary,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

For pdf, you need to find and install a pdf printer. You could have a look
at the Companion Products list in our MVP web site, something like
Housatonic wiold probably suffice. Otherwise, please see FAQ Item: 16.
Project Viewer.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

See http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc for Project Tutorials

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hello gary1274,

You have a couple of options:
- you may export data from Project to Excel. Use File > Save As, and
change the file type to Excel. That will start the export Wizard and
you can choose from an existing export map or create your own.
- you may save a project file as a web page. See File > Save as web
page. That will also allow you to select an export map and save the
file as HTML.
- if you have a program that creates PDF files (Adobe) you can print to
a PDF printer and have a PDF file to distribute.

See FAQ # 16 "Project Viewer" at: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm for
additional details.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
