1. Run a virus scan with an up-to-date virus scanner.
(Purchase reliable virus-protection software if you don't
have any (e.g., Norton Antivirus).) If you think you've
got a virus problem, deal with that first.
2. Before proceeding further, if you want to retain your
latest and archived email messages (both sent and
received), copy all *.pst files to a unique location,
like "C:\My Documents". This is simply precautionary
backup.

Uninstall Outlook and/or the entire Microsoft Office
suite. Shut down and restart as needed. Reinstall Outlook
and/or the entire Microsoft Office suite. Shut down and
restart as needed.
