Vista OS - Access 2003 ends abuptly when filtering ODBC linked dat

Only on Vista systems, when I go into any ODBC linked (SQL 2005) table and
try to filter any date (just by clicking on the the Filter By Selection
button) I get the message, "Microsoft Access has stopped working" and it
closes the db down. On Windows XP, I can filter the dates without any
problems. The filter works for all other data types. I have installed all the
latest updates for Vista and Office. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
I guess there's a first for everything. I'm not sure I understand your
response. I have not installed any File DSN's on the other machines, they
don't need it to run the Access front-end. Do you want me to change my File
DSN on my local machine or create new ones on everyone else's machine? Again,
no one is having this problem except the Vista user.

Hi,
you are talking about ODBC linked tables, right? you can connect them to
access either DSNless or with DSN. If you use first method - then try to
create a new DSN entry (not a file DSN, just user DSN), link table using
this DSn and then try to change DSN properties, relinking after every
change.

Hi,
Yes, the tables are ODBC. When they are linked, I use a file DSN. However,
you seem to be missing the point. Everything works fine for ALL the machines
using Windows XP OS. When using the same Access database on a Vista OS
machine, all the data in all the links are fine with the EXCEPTION of the
date fields. Vista will not allow me to filter the date or perform any sql
query attempting filter by date on any linked table.

FYI, I decompiled then compiled all Access 2003 databases and now everything
works fine on the Vista machines.
