I just purchased and installed Office 2003 on my system. I had Office 97
before and removed it before installing 2003. When I run Power Point I get a
message saying "Power Point couoldn't open the visual basic for applications
project in presentation D:/Microsoft Office/Office/ppmusic.ppa. It wants me
to remove it and then I can use it by going to help.
How do I get the program to work correctly and not cause the problem. It's a
new install of Office 2003 and it should all work correctly.
Waiting for your help.

Thanks....
Rick

Make sure you also install the SP for 2003

Try opening PowerPoint, clicking "Tools", "Macro", "Security" and set your
security to MEDIUM.

Thanks Steve that worked as well as using the help disable items. Its sitting
there as a disabled addin. Now one other thing... When I run .pps files and
have them finish I get a setup error message as they end. It seems to work
fine but the setup error has me puzzled? Any idea about that?

The error message appears on the bottom line of my screen (the line with
Start) and happens every time I run a *.pps file. The file runs fine but when
it finishes and just as it closes the file and returns me to the directory I
clicked to get it to run I get a message tone (bing) and then a message on
the line saying "setup error" then it goes away and evereything seems fine
until I run the next *.pps file. Always the same message at the same time???
A real puzzle..

I looked in the addins and nothing there. I also tried the Alt Tab and
nothing there either. Just all the programs that are running at that time
show up. Could it be that the *.pps files are from eirlier versions of power
point and that is causing the setup error message to appear? I don't know...

I have found what might have something to do with the problem. If I am in
Power Point and run a *.pps file it works fine and no setup error message. If
I am outside Power Point and then just click on a file wirh a *.pps extension
the file runs ... but... after it finishes I get the setup error message. Its
like the program can't find the Power Point program or something. Hope that
helps you with your effort.
Thanks for not giving up on me.
