I understand VI uses the FP extensions. If there is a better place to ask a
VI question, please let me know.

I have a web site that I access using VI and FP. I got a new computer and
have installed VI on it (so far) and want to connect to the server, but it
is failing to accept my password and ID. Given I can still access it from
the old computer, I suspect I haven't set some setting correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
Lee

Hmmm. I replied yesterday and don't see it today. That's the problem with
software - you don't always get what you think you would. Sigh. I'll try
again...

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. (Of course, I have done so somewhat
by now, but will continue.) The problem I was having was the host wouldn't
accept my ID/password. The same ID/password that I use on my old computer
and the one I'm using right now on this one in an FTP session. This leads
me to think I simply entered something wrong when setting up the solution.

As I already connect with VI using the old computer, it's not a question of
them not having the FP extensions installed. Nor is it a question of the
ID/password not being valid for the web site. Basically I'm assuming it is
operator error and probably can be fixed in 2 minutes if someone can tell me
what I'm doing wrong.

I appreciate the response. I was beginning to think there was no one in
cyberspace using VI that knew how to use it at all.

Apparently no one is reading in this newsgroup.

That would be me.
Why does it even exist?

Because I'm a programmer who uses FrontPage.
