W hy have I lost "find" function in Word

I routinely use Cntrl F to find my way around documents, replace words.
Today, it is not working. I have checked that I have no "options" such as
capital letters, whole words, format, etc. engaged.

Try going into Tools, Customize, click on Keyboard. On the left, select
"Edit" on the right select "EditFind". Below, Remove Ctrl+F if it is already
assigned as the Current Key. Then reassign it on the right and click Assign.
