want to retrieve contacts and email.

My windows xp computer crashed as far as the boot sector
is concerned. Using this drive as the d: drive on another
computer I can see the files on the drive. Can I recover
my Contacts and emails from my MS Office Outlook?

All of your Outlook data (mail, contacts, appointments, etc.) are stored in
a file with a .PST extension. Look here for all the information you need on
backup and restoration of Outlook data:
