Warnings when replying to emails

Hello

Sometimes when I reply to an email a notice pops up warning that I may need
to download some information from that server and this may give notification
to a spammer that my email address is active.

For some reason this actually takes a few moments longer when replying, it
is as though the system temporarily hangs when I reply to the emails that
get this warning.

Does anybody know how to turn it off or does anybody know why these emails
cause the system to hang for a few seconds before allowing me to reply?

Could be a couple of things. Does the message appear in a tan colored
box with an "official looking" format? You could be getting IMs from the MS
network. Use the search engine of your choice to locate "Microsoft
messaging" for guidance on how to block them. Another idea could be spyware
on your machine. Your email software should not be triggering this sort of
activity. Is your antivirus definitions up-to-date? If not, why not. Run a
virus scan as soon as possible.
