We have a 1-day task as a finish date of the following day

Hi,

We're working an 11 hour day - default working hours have been changed,
number of hours a day, hours a week and days a month have been changed, yet
if I schedule a 1-day task to start on say, today, it's finish date always
shows up as tomorrow. I've switched the dates views to show dates and times
and the task is starting at 09:00 one day and finishing at 09:00 the next day.

Does anyone have any ideas? This is a client's project database. Could it
be that he has subsequently changed the working hours? Even new tasks with
no predecessors (as he's been trying everything to experiment) are doing
this. I seem to vaguely recall a solution for this but can't remember the
details.

Many thanks,

Karen.

Hi Rod,

Thanks for your response. The Tools, Options, Calendar default working
times have been set to be the first working minute of the day (i.e. 09:00),
with the default finish time accordingly. I'm not sure if my client has
changed these after scoping the project, as I know that sometimes this can
make a difference. Having said that, in a completely new project, accepting
the default settings, a 1-day task (on its own, with no predecessors nor
successors for testing), still started on one day and finished the next day.

Also, the default hours have been set, as you know. When you go to Tools,
Change Working Time, my client cannot understand why the hours on the right
hand side of the screen (where you would enter your non-default working
hours) do not reflect the default working hours, and in some cases, on some
projects, I know he is altering these to the same hours as the default
working time in Tools, Options, Calendar, thus marking his dates as
non-default working time (as it does when you make any changes to the timings
here).

If you have any other ideas I'd be very grateful. I feel like I'm missing
something, as if I know the answer but can't remember how I've solved this in
the past for another client.

Thanks again Rob.

Kind regards,

Karen
