What does this message mean:

'This system is not configured to relay mail to <[email protected]> for
10.1.50.1'

I can't send any messages to (e-mail address removed) at all!

This happens when we send from 2 of our most-used email addresses.

A nuisance!

How do we deal with this?

N.B. (e-mail address removed) is a dummy name we have used here just to keep our
friend's name and email address private - we know our friend's email address
is genuine and working from webmail but not from OE.

Thanks

MW

Your Exchange account is misconfigured. Your administrator needs to add
the account's SMTP email address to the account as a valid email
address. Otherwise your server thinks the Mac is trying to use it as a
relay server, which is often used by spammers.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for this but as I am not a techno person I do not understand:

How do I configure this and who is the administrator i.e. is this
administrator our ISP Freeserve or our email address provider
nameplanet.com?!

Thanks for your help as we are flummoxed by this and not being able to send
emails a real pain in the neck!

Thanks

Thanks

MW

P.S. Please CC all replies directly to

<[email protected]>

as well as posted here to Newsgroup as we will get emails first - Thanks.

You posted your question in an Outlook group for Macintosh but from your
reply to me I suspect you're referring to Outlook Express. These are not
the same nor are they similar applications.

If you're using Outlook, which requires an Exchange server to be running
in your company's network, then your administrator would be whoever
manages your email server.

If you're using Outlook Express, then my answer to you won't apply. You
may want to check out the Outlook Express newsgroup for Macs. Either
way, since your error message refers you to contact your administrator,
you may need to bring this to his attention to get your issue resolved.

Hope this helps! bill
