Hi Matthew,

If you have an OEM edition of MS Office the
product is licensed to the machine it was activated on
and that ties it to a specific machine. If you have
a retail edition of MS Office it is licensed to the
person that activates it and can be moved to another
computer.

how can u tell if u have the If you have a retail edition of MS Office or a
OEM edition of MS Office?..What is a OEM edition?

If Office came with your computer, then it;s an OEM. If you bought it from a
store (online or brick-and-mortar) and it came in a pretty box, then it's a
retail version.
