What symbol formats can Visio import?

What file format(s) can Visio 2002 accept, when importing
symbols (shapes)?

Background: We have a library of common symbols used in
our electrical layout drawings. We are considering using
Visio 2002 and our symbol library, to create engineering
drawings.
