Visio Newbie
I am going thru a process of design and documentation of a SQL database. We
have used Excel to define the design for each of the tables. The Excel
includes the descriptions and default values. I would like to import (from
Excel) this range of data. This will represent the table layouts/design for
the SQL database table. The range I would like to import has a minimum of
two columns of data. The one is the column name and the other is the
datatype. Can I import this kind of data into a Visio object (UML Package
maybe)? I would like to use this Visio Object illustrate each and all of
the tables. I would like to add the contraints, relationships and keys to
each of the tables in the Visio diagram. How can I accomplish this with the
data in Excel format.
I tried converting the Excel to an Access table and then see if there was a
method to create a table in Visio with the database rows from Access but I
couldnt figure that out with Visio. If that would work then it would make
things even easier as I would add the table id to the name and datatype.
I would appreciate any help or any suggestions.
Thanks
