It would be helpful to know what version of Word you are using, but I'll
assume it is 2003. The first thing to check is Tools>Options>View, make sure
there is *no* check in the box for Picture Placeholders & that there *is* a
check in the box for Drawings.
If that isn't it, supply more info about what image file type(s) are
involved & where you are copying them from. You might also try using the
preferred method of Insert>Picture>From File if they are individually saved
image files.
