When reporting how can the summary task/parenting of the task be s

I have a form that contains many sites all with the same tasks as subtasks to
the site name. Therefore when reporting it does not show which site each task
is for, and so doesn't make much sense. How can I make the summary task/site
name for each task be shown?
Thank you!

Hi swilks ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You didn't say which version of Project you're using or what report you're
after. However, you can insert a column for the Project field and include
this in your report.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thanks for that but that just includes the name of my project.

I'm using project 2003 and want to produce a report of the %completion of
each task. My problem is that I have a number of sites that require the same
tasks to be done at different times. Therefore in my form I have a summary
task for each site and then the same tasks for each one. When i produce a
report of the tasks it does not mean much as the site name (parental/summary
task) is not listed, its just repeated tasks. Is there any way i can show the
parental summary for each one?
Thank you

You could use a free column like Text1 and insert the site name (fill down
to speed input), then use this in the report.

Hi Swilks,

You mention a "form" for reporting. What form (report?) are you using?
If you supply some additional details perhaps we can be of more
assistance.

Sorry i'm quite new to project as you can probably tell. By form I mean my
project file, all the tasks that need to be done in the project. This
includes a set of tasks that must be done at many different sites- i have
grouped the set of tasks under summary tasks, the summary tasks represents
each site.

What i'd like to create is a report showing the the tasks that need to be
done, but as i have many duplicate tasks with the same name under different
sites all i get up is the task name when I need the name of the site with it
aswell.
I'm sorry does this make more sense?
Thank you

Hi swilks,

Please don't apologize for being new to project -- we were all there at
one time or another. :-D

Your explanation helps to clear things up a bit and thanks for the
clarification. As far as reporting, have you looked at the Incomplete
Tasks or Tasks Starting Soon reports? (View > Reports > Current
Activities). If you edit either of the reports, (select the report and
then click the Edit button) there is an option to Show summary tasks.

Does this show you what you want to see?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
