Where did my file names go?

I know I did it, I just don't know how I did and how to
get it back.

When in front page under the folders view:
On the left side I have the folders with names, pages that
do not have folders are not visible.

Plus on the right side of the screen there are only little
folder icons with no names and "ophaned" web page icons
with no names.

I have never experienced this. I know it will problably
take someone a shorter amount of time to help than it did
to type this question/problem out.

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office
Also run Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks after you open you web in FP

Any other suggestions?

Did you ever have any of the MSO Betas installed on this machine?

YES I did. I had the MSO 2003. I have never connected
the two until now. That was taken off a month or two
months ago. I don't have to change the web often so it
was not something I noticed sooner or connected.

I will be purchasing the "real" version very soon.

If what was taken off with beta deletion, is it reasonable
to assume that the new install will put everything back
together again?

If this is the case, then I might as well leave it alone.

The web is working fine, it's just the editing now is
difficult.

Several users have reported this problem
(seems the uninstall does not clean out some registry entries)

Try the below registry edits before you repair/reinstall MSO XP/ FP 2002

Find the key
hkcu/software/microsoft/frontpage/explorer/fp explorer/settings

Any of the values listed in here that start with the number 5 should be
deleted. This will reset all of the column widths, etc, but it will get the
filenames and any other problems resolved.
There should only be one or two for folder view, but any view that was
used/modified with a beta version of FP2003 could be affected.

PS
Also delete all FP Temp and *.web files before opening FP2002, then run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
