i have office 2000 on a windows XP 2002 operating
system. if we wanted to use outlook for our company
email, contact list, and calander, would we need to
purchase any additional software, or do we just load the
office 2000 package onto our server. currently, office
suite has been loaded on each PC.

Scott,
you most definitely need additional software for the server. Office suite is
an application for client end only, to manage email, contacts and scheduling
you will need software and licensing such as Exchange Server. Not to mention
a bit of experience installing and maintaining the email server.

Good luck.
