Why are names being duplicated when I merge?

I am trying to make name badges and when I merge I notice that some of the
names are being duplicated.

Not enough information. Is this a random duplication? In which case you
probably have duplicated records? Is there any identifiable pattern? What
type of merge is this? What Word version? Where is your data coming from?

The program is Word 2003. The names on the right hand column are being
duplicated on the next page. I am making name badges. I created my list in
word.

(and maybe http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_graphics.htm) and see where
what you are doing differs from that process. Name badges here should be
setup as a label merge.
