Why do certain fields keep appearing on screen?

Hello,

Why do certain fields (most noticeably the {TC} field) keep appearing
on screen even when the Fields code option is turned off on the "Show"
tab of the Tools-Option?

The TC field is formatted with hidden text. Tools>Options>View>Formatting
Marks and uncheck hidden text.
