why do my folders not open when using office products

B

bakern

when selecting a folder to load from or save to, only with msoffice programs,
i have to double clicl several time to open the folders. All non msoffice
products open folders immediately on first double click when perfoming this
process.

Is there a settign I need to select or something I may have turned off?

thanks
Neil

Perhaps there are many files in the folders? The more files the longer
it takes Office to read the extra data connected with the files.

yes, but only when using an office product to open the flolders. all other
programs open folders immediately.

Because Office "reads" more data associated with the files. You just
need to adjust by being more patient, reduce the number of files in each
folder or get faster/more powerful computer.

i think there was some kind of office indexing that i may have turned off.
Havy you any idea how to check that and how to turn back on?

You may wish to query "Help", "Indexing"

It's called Fast Find. But you didn't mention your OS or version of
Office. See if this article helps...
