Why do some messages not get sent from Outlook?

I have just installed Norton Internet Security 2005 on my computer and since
this installation I have been experiencing problems with sending SOME
messages from my Outbox. I have disabled the ‘Scan outgoing emails’ option
from the NIS software and rebooted the computer, but the problem still
remains. I have also altered the settings in Outlooks Options\Mail
Setup\Send Receive so that messages are sent immediately on connection. This
works, however I prefer my messages to be sent from Outbox.

Can you please help?

Some versions of Norton continue scanning mail even if disabled. It
requires uninstalling the entire product and reinstalling without the mail
integration features.

Even if you have the send immediately option enabled, they're still sent
from the Outbox. They just don't stay it it very long.

Can you typify the messages that don't send when you expect?
