Why does a mail merge ignor data revisions?

I can change a company name for a contact, merge that contact with a mailing
label and the label will have the old company name. Why and how can I make
the mail merge work correctly.

Did you save the item and then start the mail merge from your contacts folder, using the Tools | Mail Merge command?
