Why does it take so long for a printing job to be cancelled?

I use XP and recently, when I am printing a print job and I want to cancel
it, it seems to take 'years' to cancel. The current print job giving me
difficulties is a 24MB print run.

I would check with the printer manufacturer - you may need more RAM in the
printer.
