I just got done working on a 50 page proposal. Typical mix of text, tables,
and graphics. I worked offline and ultimately uploaded it to a Sharepoint
site. I've always been a supporter of Microsoft products, but their stuff
just doesn't work anymore. Since this morning:
1) Word crashed 7 times.
2) Word had to be killed twice because it was using 100% of my CPU without
signs of finishing
3) After one crash it showed me 3 recovery files, none of which had anything
I had done in the last hour (not sure why as my recovery save is set for
every 10 minutes.)
4) I consistently battle Word which chooses to ignore what I tell it to do.
For example: highlight text, change font...it doesn't change the font. (I've
used Word since the DOS version and it always used to work.)
5) ...and on and on.
I don't even know how to ask the question. How can I get Word to "work"
again?
Can I easily turn off all options and features since Office 2000 when it was
usuable? If I bought MS-Word from the store I would have returned it by now.
