why intserted pictures in a word file cann't be printed?

please see the subject. When I tried to print a word file with inserted
pictures, the pictures were lost in the print-out. When I tried to covert
the word file into a .pdf file, those pictures were lost too. Anyone knows
the reason and solutions? Thanks

Make sure under Tools/Options/Print that "Drawing objects" is turned
on.
