Why non-summary tasks not shown in Calendar view?

Can sb explain why I cannot view some tasks in my calendar view? I only have
2 activities for a particular week and I've zoomed my calendar to display 4
weeks. There is plenty of blank space to display both activities but I only
see 1 activity. There is a black downward-pointing arrow followed by "..."
next to the date. When I double click the date, I get another window
displaying the 2 activities but the 1 activity that is actually shown has a
tick next to it.

Hi Melissa
Black downward facing arrow it is telling you that there is not enough room
to display your information. If you hover over the dividing line that
separates one week from another and "pull" it down you should then see all of
your tasks.

Thanks! I gathered as much but what I cannot understand is why I need to
expand the row when there is plenty of space to display, by my estimate, 10
activity bars. I only have 2 activities in that week but only 1 is shown as
a bar.

Hi Melissa,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't know why, but expanding one row expandes them all. Looke further
down to see if there's a week with more bars. In any case, the best I can
offer is to try Formal/Layout/Attempt to fit as many tasks as possible.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
