Why - Shutdown by hand

Why when I do a restart on my system does Outlook not shut down and tells me
that I have to go to the application and close it. Seems that just about
every other program will shut down when the system issues a shutdown to it.
Why not Outlook?

I'm using Outlook 2002 on Windows XP PRO.

I'm using Outlook 2002 on Windows XP PRO.

I'm not sure exactly why, but this has always been the case in my
experience. I recommend closing outlook & then shutting down/restarting. It
doesn't take long to click the X.

It has some hooks in the system and windows can't exit it.
Do you have all of the service packs installed?

Outlook has SP3
XP - I have not install their lates SP.

Just seems dumb that it requires me to click exit. They should be able to
issue that command.

It has some hooks in the system and windows can't exit it.
Do you have all of the service packs installed?
