Why won't a "Print Screen" image show in my Word document?

When I use "Print Screen" to capture an image to insert in a Word document
and insert it, I can't see the actual image in the document, yet it shows in
"Print Preview" and when the document is printed. I've done this before and
it's worked fine. What do I need to do to be able to see it in the document,
so I can manipulate it?
