Word will open documents created by some versions of the Works word
processor (you can check on this by looking at the "Files of type" list in
the File Open dialog). If your version is not listed, it may be that the
appropriate filters have not been installed (you might be able to install
them by rerunning setup), or it may be that the version of Works is newer
(or much older) than the version of Word. If you have access to Works, you
probably have the option to save in a Word format (6.0, for example), or, as
Mike suggests, you could use RTF.
