hi ! I have a wierd bug with a powerpoint presentation. I
would like to copy an image from a slide to a word
document, I right-click on the image, choose copy, switch
from powerpoint to word choose edit/paste, but nothing
come in. I can paste the image in paint, re-copy it from
paint and now I can paste it in word. The wierd thing is
that I re-installed ms office97 to fix that bug, but it
didn't fix it. I tried on another workstation and it
worked juste fine, from powerpoint to word... any hint ???

What type of image is it? If it is merely a slide background you are
clicking on it might not be capturing anything. Of course it can be as
simple as you are in "Normal" View which does not show graphics, but only
text. While in Word, click the "View" menu and click on "Page Layout" (or
"Print Layout" depending on the version). Does it show now?

By the way, your file sizes will always be much smaller if you use "Edit",
"Paste as new image" in Microsoft Photo Editor, then insert the picture into
Word. or as a minimum, instead of clicking "paste", click the "Edit" menu
in Word and select "Paste Special". Then select the "jpg" option if listed.

Is your Word program already open when you try to paste the image? Or do you
copy first, then open Word and then try to paste? In the latter case, your
clipboard may have been emptied by an Add-In with the start of Word. To
avoid this, start both programs first, then do Copy/Paste.

Kind regards,
Ute
