In my own words:
Any PowerPoint 2003 file will open in PowerPoint 97, PowerPoint 2000, and
save that PowerPoint 2003 file in anin features that were introduced (or updated) in PowerPoint 2003. If you
introduced/updated in PowerPoint 2003.earlier version of PowerPoint, you will lose some of the features were
PowerPoint 2002 (XP). Just be very carefulSo to answer your question in simple terms:
Yes, it will display (open) in PowerPoint 97, PowerPoint 2000, and
if you are using a feature that wasabout saving it in PowerPoint 97, PowerPoint 2000, or PowerPoint 2002 (XP)
in an earlier version" describes theintroduced (or updated) in PowerPoint 2003.

Echo S said:If the original poster doesn't "backsave," that is, if he doesn't "save as
PPT 97-2003 & 95," and just saves as he normally would, then the 2002
presentation should run just fine in PPT 2003.
The Help file is misleading and should not say "Features affected when you
open in PowerPoint 2002 or save to the
PowerPoint 97-2003 & 95 Presentation format," because opening the file in
PPT 2002 does not create the problems described in that link.
