Win 2000 pro error 1606

I've just upgraded from Win 98 to Win 2000 Pro. Everytime I try to install a program I get Error 1606 - common Administrator tools >. all users\. All the postings I see are for XP upgrades and I've tried to modify registry per instruction for Win Xp and acheive no results other than changing the wording for my error 1606. Please help.

Hi Rob,

This newsgroups is more for Word application errors rather than
Windows application errors. You'll have better luck posting to a
Windows XP newsgroup.
