Window size in Office Pack

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

When I open e.g. Word, I get a window with the page and some toolbars on the side but not in the same windows. I can't get a full view of the page with the toolbars in it, so at all times I can still see some of the desktop background, where it's not covered by the toolbars.

Does someone know how to change it ?

It sounds like you're a previous Windows user ‹ You're not in Kansas any
more :) The environments are similar in many respects but definitely are
not the same. What you're experiencing is part of the difference between the
Windows interface & the OS X interface. It might be a good idea to start
with the Mac Help topic: About windows and the desktop (it may be phrased a
bit differently in Tiger ‹ that's the topic in Leopard) and the related
links at the bottom of that help page. The following links to the Apple site
may also be useful:

As for the toolbars in Word [as well as most any other program] you can drag
them using the tab at the left edge. If you drag the bar up so that it locks
into position right beneath the Menu Bar the document window will be forced
down. You can also dock a toolbar at the bottom or on either side. As in
Windows, the toolbars only cover the document area when in a floating
position. When moving them just be aware that the little button on that left
tab closes the toolbar.

The document window can be dragged using its Title Bar & resized by dragging
the lower right corner. You'll find more in the Help referred to above as
well as in the Help for Word.
