Cannot access my documents in Office Word 2000

DL- I had Spyware in the Registry, removed it successfully. I know my Documents are in my PC. I downloaded Microsoft Word Viewer. That allows me to read & print documents but cannot edit them. I need something to allow me to edit them, could I re-install M. S. Word program of later version and still be able to read, edit & print? Thanks Beginner!

If you've not got Word on your system, of course you can't edit them! DUH!

If you've not got Word on your system, of course you can't edit them! DUH!

On the asumption Word is installed have you run the repair option?
Removal of spyware is often best initially tried using both Adaware and
SpyBot, they are both free. Update before running.
Any later version , than the origonal, of Word will provide full access to
word docs.
