Windows 2003 SP

I've just installed the service pack, and now when I try
to insert a symbol, absolutely nothing happens (no
eggtimer, no pause) just as if I haven't clicked
anything. It definitely worked ok previously. Anyone else
come accross this, and if so, how to fix it?

The title should read Word 2003.

Hi Phil,

Does this happen in a new blank document and choose
Insert=>Symbol?

Does it happen if you start Word in safe mode (hold ctrl
key down while starting Word until you get the safe mode
confirmation dialog box).

The problem you describe is known to occur when TweakUI's X-Mouse
feature is enabled. Did you also install TweakUI when you got the
service pack?
