Windows Installer runs when starting Office XP programs

I have seen this addressed here before, but the answers and suggestions don't seem to be working. I'm aware of KB article #290740 on this topic, but they don't seem to help. I am running XP Professional and XP Office 2000. When I open Word, there is a brief flash of the Installer dialog, then Word seems to open normally. Powerpoint does pretty much the same thing, except it seems as if it is actually installing something. Excel and Access don't exhibit this behavior. The problem would be just an annoyance but I work with a program every day that published to MS Word and needs to open up Word to do this. The interference of the Installer when opening Word means I cannot publish from this other program (AuthorIT is the name of the program). So, for me, this is huge problem. I have gone through the steps in article 290740, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office several times. I have used the Installer Cleanup Utility. I have created a new user and logged in under that user name. Nothing makes a bit of difference. Any ideas or suggestions

Never mind, looks like installing all the latest service packs solved the problem! thank
