Windows Messenger running in background...

I looked thru all the settings to try and remove/stop this
from happening, and when I try to close it when Outlook is
still open, I get this:

Try this.,..

Tools > Options > Other and uncheck the 'enable instant messaging in
outlook' option

- this is in Outlook 2002 (XP)
