Won't list items in Inbox, Deleted or Sent

When I open Outlook, it seems fine. But if I open some folders other than
Inbox -- sent and deleted -- they are empty. If I then return to Inbox it is
now empty as well.

I have two copies of the inbox under two shortcut bars. One of them seems to
be OK. But I can't find anything that will store deleted and sent items.

Several other folders appear to work fine.

This follows on the heels of a bunch of email problems, reinstallations of
Office 2000, etc. so it's hard to say when the problem started.

I tried Scanpst.exe which said it found and fixed problems, but not the ones
I'm having.
