What are the differences between word 2000 and word xp.
Are there any major changes? Also, can you run two
versions of word on the same pc? Thanks, Bob.

Steve,

The old MailMergerHelper command is still available in Word2002. It opens
the familiar Mail Merge dialog box that you are probably familiar with.

Yes, the old commands are still available via the "Word Commands" dialog in
the macros or All Commands in the toolbars customising dialog. I also find
the Database toolbar has some useful buttons on it if you are used to the
old-fashioned way of doing merges.

The trickiest thing, I found, was getting it to do a labels merge from a
pre-existing data source. I think I've just about managed it. I know
merging is not exactly the most straightforward activity for a Word beginner
but that mail merge taskbar wizard thing is completely useless!

Still, you can save more than one thing to the clipboard memory and
manipulate them easily, and the Open files dialog can be made bigger at
will, so I guess that kinda makes up for it. And the "Save As Filtered
HTML" option, which makes converting Word stuff into HTML easier.

Ah, that's useful Suzanne - I've been wondering how to get up all the old
buttons and I've been struggling with some of the old buttons I've found and
the new system in a kind of hybrid. Bye-bye Mail Merge Wizard!
