Word 2000 COM AddIn

I hope this is the right group, if not, could someone point me in the right
direction, thanks.

I am experimenting with a COM addin for my company. I have created a
project in VB6, that when Word 2000 starts it adds a toolbar, populates it
with buttons.

The buttons' click events work fine when word first opens, but if I start a
new document, the toolbar is visisle but none of the click events fire.

The new document doesn't seem to fire any of the IDTExtensibility2 phases
(OnConnection, etc...)

Is this an obvious problem?
