Word 2000 paragraph formatting

Hi,

I have found that after I update to sp3 (9.0.6926), I have some settings
in the "paragraph" dialog disappeared.

We used to have "snap to grid" checkbox in the "spacing" settings under
"Indents and Spacing" tab, and I use that a lot to fix some formatting
issues.

Now I have that checkbox disappeared, and I can't fine tune the
paragraph spacing just with the "line spacing" list box, how can I make
that checkbox appear again or are there any ways to adjust paragraph
spacing?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Louis

Hi Louis,

In Format->Paragraph do you have an 'Asian Typography' tab? If not then with the Office apps closed use
Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office=>Microsoft Office Tools
and select the Language Settings tool to set/reset the Asian language of choice to be included.

The snap to grid choice in
Format=>Paragraph=>Indents and spacing tab
only appears when an Asian Language is active in Office.

Hey guys, I have been reading thru some of the POSTS and believe that I'm on
the right track (tread) and would appreciate your help. I recently purchased
a Lenovo system that I believe over-wrote some settings in OfficeXp (2002).
When I click on Format-->Paragraph, I see Indents & Settings - Line and Page
Breaks AND Asian Typography (which I didn't not see when I had this version
of Office installed on my old system). Further when I click on
Tool-->Options I notice that the selections include Asian Typography,
Japanese Find, Complex Script,......
I have NO USE for any settings besides English so I thought that may be the
Control Panel-->Languages was incorrectly set but it was set to English so I
would appreciate your help in advising me what changes I need to make to in
Office, Windows, ?????? to reset my system to English ONLY?
Thank you for your support
Bob

Thank you for your help Beth, I just couldn't figure out where to look and
would have never thought of this, thank you.
I have a follow-up question(s).
Does this also apply to Complex Scripts (i.e. Tools--->Options--->Complex
Scripts), which also something that I have never seen before and don't
believe I need?
And while I'm at it, is there anything that I can do to re-set MSWord to
good old fashion English (with NO "foreign" characters)?
Lst, this is probably unrelated but I'll ask anyway, I have been unable to
REPLY to any of the POSTS using this new Lenovo computer. When I click on
REPLY, the screen "freshes" itself and instead of presenting me a window /
box to type my reply, the same "message" page re-appears.
I had to go to one of my othewr computers to create / send this message.
This does NOT sound like a Word and / or MSOffice issue but this Lenovo
system has been doing some VERY strange things so I thought that I would ask
just the same.
Thank you again for youyr help Beth,
Bob

Hi Boblink,

The complex script settings come from right to left language settings. If you don't need languages other than English then remove
all others from the choices in the Office Language Settings Tool.
