Word 2000 SR-1 freezes when pasting from a website

Any time I copy information from a website and try to paste in Word, the
program freezes. This also happens sometimes when trying to close Word. I
have all the latest updates, have tried re-installing and repairing, and
nothing helps.

I'm not sure if this is helpful but what you are encountering is a
known issue in Word 97 and Word 2000. I wasn't able to paste content
from the web until I upgraded to Word 2002.

You might try using one of the Edit/Paste Special options and see if
one of those will work for you.
