With Word 2000 what is the difference between global and normal settings, and how do I reset my global settings to normal when attempting to save certain documents?
Thank You Very Much!

Can you explain what you mean? Formatting changes you make are applied to
the current document, unless you save them to the document template when
they are available to all documents based on that template. Global settings
apply to all documents.

If the user is prompted to save Normal.dot every time he/she closes Word,
then something is dirtying Normal.dot. Usually this is a poorly written
add-in. The most common culprits are the Norton Office Plug-in and the
Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word.

This question was put to me by another user. I think it had something to
do with trying to close a document Word asked about changing settings from
global to normal or vice versa. That's the best explanation I can give
without more clarification from the first party.
