Word 2002 constantly refreshing

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is what's happening, but I've
recently noticed that my screen is constantly refreshing
in Word - it's the only app this happens to. That is, I
get a (clear) line of sorts running from the top of my
screen to the bottom intermittently. It's not so much a
flicker on the screen but looks more like a wave quickly
running from top to bottom.

It's driving me nuts. I haven't noticed it before. Please
help, it's worse than having a leaky faucet dripping
water in the background.

Thank you for responding.

My display adapter is a Trident Video Accelerator
CyberBlade-XP v6.4022-003.22ICD (16mb) and the driver is
the latest. Unfortunately I cannot change the refresh
rate (60 Hertz) and the acceleration is at full. Since
this is a laptop I cannot upgrade the video card.

Nevertheless, wouldn't this be sufficient for running
Word 2002? Also I don't remember Word behaving this way
in the past. I did reinstall the driver but that didn't
help.

Anyway thanks for the suggestions; if you think of
something else please let me know.

Hi Jason,

You might try turning the hardware acceleration down a notch or two.
Believe it or not in this case more isn't always better.
