Word 2002 footer bug?

I have a document that switches between portrait and landscape, with
the footers also differing between page orientations. My problem is
that my footers are linked to the previous section (of a different
orientation) BUT, the button for linking to the previous section is NOT
CHECKED. The section breaks between differing orientations and
differing footers, are all next page section breaks.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? Only other slightly out of
the ordinary thing is that the paper sizes I'm using are different
throughout the document - some letter sized, some 11x17.

Put the page, section orientations the way u want. Then create new
footers and delete the old ones.
