Word 2002 no longer lists certain custom installed fonts

We run Windows XP professional and MS Office 2002. We have users that until
recently have had access to a company installed font from within Word 2002.
Now it is no longer an option in the Word 2002 or Wordpad fonts drop down
list. Thus all existing instances of the font in previos Word docs are now
substituting a different font in its place. The intended font is still in the
C:\windows\fonts folder and is usable by other Non MS Office applications.
Any thoughts?

It's possible that there is some font corrupttion but
is the printer in File=>Print in Word one that can support
that font type?

Have you cleared the font cache or tried uninstalling then
readding (not just copying) the font to the font folder then
restarting?

Thanks Bob for the reply, I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the font,
then reboot: no change

The fonts printed fine on the printers in question before the fonts in Word
disapeared.

I can recreate the issue at will on other XP computer's with Office 2002
