Word 2003 attachment in Netscape Mail

I use Netscape 7.2 browser and email. I just upgraded from Office 2000 to
Office 2003. When I try to attach a Word document to an email message, I
get "The mail server responded: null byte in data." The message can't be
sent or saved with Word attachments (but can be sent with Excel 2003
attachments). I never had this problem with Word 2000. Any suggestions?
